Alessandro
Mandruzzato

Italy

The Mandruzzato family has been shaping Murano glass since 1934, passing the art of molatura - cutting, grinding and polishing glass - through four generations. Today, Alessandro carries that knowledge forward with a distinctly contemporary expression.

Working with substantial blocks of Murano glass, layers of colour and precise geometric forms, he creates sculptural objects and decorative pieces whose character emerges through the cold-working process. Each surface is cut, ground and polished to reveal the depth, colour and extraordinary optical qualities of the glass.

What we particularly value about Alessandro’s approach is the dialogue between discipline and experimentation. His work is grounded in generations of technical knowledge, yet continues to explore what this remarkable material can become through new forms, combinations and ideas.
